PENGARUH BABY MASSAGE TERHADAP KUALITAS TIDUR BAYI BERUSIA TIGA HINGGA ENAM BULAN

Background: Given the importance of sleep time for infant development, their sleep needs must be truly met so as not to have a negative effect on their development. Sleep needs are not only seen from the aspect of quantity but also quality. If the baby's sleep quality is good, the baby's growth and development can be achieved optimally. One way that can be used to meet these needs is with baby massage. Babies who are massaged will be able to sleep soundly, while when they wake up, their concentration will be fuller. Research objective: to analyze the effect of baby massage on the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months in the work area of the Simpang Kiri Health Center UPTD, Simpang Kiri District, Subulussalam City in 2024. Research method: The study used a one group pretest-posttest design. The study population was babies aged 3-6 months. The research sample was 30 babies aged 3-6 months, by total sampling. The independent variable was baby massage and the dependent variable was the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis in this study used the Wilcoxon Test. Research Results: showed that the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months before being given baby massage was mostly lacking as many as 26 respondents (86.6%) and the sleep quality of babies aged 3-6 months after being given baby massage was mostly good as many as 22 respondents (73.3%). The Wilcoxon statistical test showed that the significant value pvalue = 0.02 <α (0.05), so Ha was accepted. The conclusion of the study means that there is an Effect of Baby Massage on the Sleep Quality of Babies Aged 3-6 months in the Working Area of the Simpang Kiri Health Center UPTD.
